The Living Memory Association
McCurdy found their placement in The Living Memory Association (THELMA), an organisation who create a space for the elderly, especially those with dementia, to reminisce about their past. They do this by showing photographs, playing old records and generally discussing memories all while surrounded by a museum of items where everyone is encouraged to handle them. McCurdy's work with them surrounded reminiscence training, organising and creating archives and editing images to a higher and clearer quality for publication in their seasonal magazine. The archive was previously unseen by the public before the restoration and publication. This was McCurdy's first step into restoration, since having restored many personal archives for others.
