We are as old as the trees and the rocks. Our roots feed down deep into the earth. Here I am meant to be and here I will remain
My identity is being made out to be something that is new and invasive. I am a part of the scenery and ecosystem. In some places I blend in, in others I am easily picked out. I feel vulnerable and as though I am about to be uprooted, but I have always been here and before me stood my queer elders.
